A cup of joe and other things...
Today, I am going to answer some simple questions to just feel good. You can also jot down these questions in your gratitude journal and count your blessings and take an opportunity to be grateful towards all the good things in your life. How about answering the following questions on this Thanksgiving, on 23 November 2023. Here goes my pre-thanksgiving celebration by expressing myself in words.

What “simple thing” made today a good day? ๐ฅค
Today being a Wednesday, the middle of the week, I am not
feeling very energetic. In the middle of the week, either you are getting over
the Monday blues, or you are desperately waiting for the weekend. And for me
the latter is applicable. Today I woke up, feeling all lethargic. Somehow, I
managed to start the laptop and conduct the daily call. Simple thing that made
my morning going is a cup of black coffee. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee from
the machine was enough to lift my mood. Now, I am looking at the residue of the
coffee at the base of my empty coffee cup. All positivity in and only negative
stuff left behind. That’s how I will take it and I am grateful for this cup of joe.
What’s working well in your body right now that you are most grateful for? ๐
In the month of October, I underwent a laparoscopic surgery.
I got admitted on 19th Oct and it was a public holiday and on 20th
October, I got operated. The doctor said I will take 2 weeks to feel little
better, 6 weeks to heal and 3 months to get back to normal. I withheld the
surgery well; I followed all the instructions carefully. I am still taking zinc
and other vitamins. I am taking tablets that will regularize my monthly cycle.
But overall, I am thankful that I am healing so well. And I would like to
emphasize this point that, as doctor said, it is very important to start
walking post-surgery. If you don’t walk your healing process will be delayed. I
walked for 5-10 minutes after every few hours and now I am trying to have my 30
minutes walk every day. Post-surgery, my body is healing well, and I am so
thankful.
What do you like most about your personality? ๐
Ah! This can be a long answer. But I’ll list a few pointers.
·
I have learned to say NO. I was never a people
pleaser, but as I am almost 36 now, I use the word “NO” very confidently and
bluntly. I have observed that some people, irrespective of their age, find it
difficult to say NO, and I am glad that I am good at it.
·
I have stopped attending social events and
functions of relatives. I am done with it as there is nothing positive about
these functions. Yes, this is not applicable to all events as, sometimes, I am
selective. Relatives, most of the time if not always, are toxic. I am happy
with my family and myself.
·
I am
trying to become a good listener. I don’t want to listen to react anymore. Having
said that I am still working on this one. But being an introvert, it is still
easy for me.
·
Whatever I do, I try to do it with interest. I
don’t seek perfection. I try to give my best in every possible way.
·
I am in the process of not to give a f*** about
people and what others think.
·
I am very straightforward and opinionated. I
have my set of beliefs and values. And I am human first. I am not very
comfortable with the concept of religion. These qualities help me to protect my
individualism and freedom in this world.
·
I am quite creative.
What aspect of yourself do you need to show more love and kindness to? ๐
I need to understand that I am already kind enough towards
people and don’t need to feel guilty to be straightforward. Also, I need to
focus more on my mental wellbeing and pamper myself more. For instance, since
few months I am thinking I should get a professional foot massage, but I haven’t.
I think it’s high time I should do it.
What’s your favourite part of the day and why? ๐
I am not a morning person, so mornings are not my favourite
part. I think I will go with evenings and nights. If I go for a walk, it is usually
in the evening. Mostly my husband and I enjoy our evening walks. Usually, my
late evenings are occupied watching TV and love this part of the day too. Apart
from this I love when I retire for the day, and I am on my bed either reading
few pages from my kindle or just listening to some book on Audible. Sometimes I
spend my bedtime scrolling through Instagram reels.
